Hampshire Star

As previously reported, on Monday 8th March 2010, Sarah Prideaux took the stage alongside Dr Vince Cable, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, and other industry leadrs at the "Road to Recovery" conference, to speak about the tough reality of being a small business holder during the recession. Praised afterwards for her candid honesty, Sarah Prideaux was also the first person to be presented with the 'Hampshire Star' award.

The new scheme, launched at the event, awards young entrepreneurs that have shown outstanding performance and dedication, as a role model for Hampshire’s youth.

Keith House, Leader of the Liberal Democrat Hampshire County Group, explains “Hampshire continues to see an inexorable rise in long term youth unemployment. The Hampshire Star award aims to recognise individuals that encourage the younger generation, who may believe there will be no jobs for them, to continue with their studies.” Of her accolade Sarah Prideaux says “Surviving the recession hasn’t been easy. It is a great honour to have this achievement recognised and to be considered an inspiration to others”.
